Wild Things Challenge Results

Goldenrod

Thanks to all participants and partners (Prince William Forest National Park, Manassas National Battlefield Park, and Prince William County Mosquito and Forest Pest Management Branch) ! No one successfully completed all three challenges, next time!

Stats for all observations in i-Naturalist made within the area and time frame of the challenge:
Goldenrod appreciator:
A total of 27 observations were made with 7 species represented.  The most commonly noted species was Tall Goldenrod (Solidago altissima).
Mushroom hunter:
370 observations were made for a total of 141 species.  Honey mushroom (Armillaria mellea) was the most common species followed by turkey tail fungus (Trametes versicolor).
Spotted lanternfly detector:

2 spottings of Ailanthus altissima (tree of heaven) were added with one confirmation of spotted lanternfly, (Lycorma delicatula).
