About the event

Topic: Wetlands and RPAs

Speaker: Tom Dombrowski, Prince William County

Date: May 23. Time: 11 AM - 2 PM. Location: Powell's Creek, 3609 Singla Crossing Lane, Dale City, Virginia 22193

Please share the ride. Please wear appropriate closed-toe footwear (preferably boots or hiking shoes that you don’t mind getting wet), long pants, a hat, and sunscreen. Bug spray is essential due to the large tick population at this site. Please bring your own re-usable water bottle. This is a field event and will include walking over uneven and muddy terrain, including a stream crossing.

Any interested volunteers will be welcome to stay after the lecture to help plant Virginia-mallow/Virginia fanpetals (Ripariosida hermaphrodita). This unique plant is critically imperiled in Virginia. Please dress appropriately for the planting project. PWC Staff will provide a cooler where you can refill your reusable water bottle.

All events are free and open to the public…
